7th grade students collaborated together to design and build golf courses in STEAM, and then coded robots to drive through the golf courses in Technology. 2 classes collaborating equals 1 great time!!!

This past Saturday, 8th grade oboe player Allie Kruk was the first student in our school to represent us at Olivet Nazarene University for the ILMEA District Concert Festival. This was extra work done outside of school to prepare for auditions to be selected. Fantastic job, Allie!
Dr. Craig Wilson, the Director of the USDA Future Scientists program and a professor at Texas A&M, came to teach our Saints today! Dr. Wilson gave presentations to the PreK-5th grade students and then worked with the junior high during their STEAM classes.
Dr. Wilson and Mrs. Stanko will be working with a select group of students this year on a project for the USDA. The students will complete a research study, and then have the chance to present it to the scientists at the USDA-NCAUR in the spring!
Second grade used Sphero Robots this week! They learned to connect them with Bluetooth! Thank you to the University of Illinois Agricultural Extension Office for sharing these cool resources!

This Friday, November 8th, all students are allowed to wear a RED shirt in honor of R.E.D. Day (Remember Everyone Deployed.) Students are asked to donate $1 to help purchase wreaths which will be laid on the graves of soldiers for Wreaths Across America.
